The Writing Retreat

Do you:

– have the itch to write, but no idea where or how to start?
– want to keep a journal?
– long for prompts and companionship as you explore your voice as a writer?
– have a project that’s started (and perhaps stalled) and needs time and support?

From the moment I learned to read, I believed I would grow up to be a writer. A voracious reader, I’ve always loved stories, characters, plots, and language.

I worked in a bookstore all through jr. high, high school and college.
I've kept a journal since I was about 12—sometimes daily, sometimes more episodically.

Over the past seven years, I’ve been working on a novel, which I finally finished this winter (2025)—and am exploring publication options.

I’ve taken more creative writing classes than one person could possibly need—loving them all. For many years, I’ve worked with the brilliant writing teacher, Lisa Jones. I know this territory well—and I’d love to help birth more writers into the world, helping creativity blossom wherever it can.

This retreat is a three-day intensive, with all the elements of the Contentment Retreat—and dedicated time for writing.

We'll share space for:

– writing and reflection
– reading your words aloud (to me or to yourself)
– receiving support, feedback, or fresh prompts
– exploring characters, plot ideas, or narrative flow

Whatever you need to feel safe enough to plumb the depths—from your brain to the blank page.

Ongoing support may be arranged. We’ll talk.
